Milan Design Week started on April 8th, 2019. There are one million citizens living in Milan, yet, alone during design week, there will be five hundred thousand visitors flock in Milan for the Design Week, including the designers, architectures, agents, professionals from specific sectors. What do they have in common? They are all passionate about design!
The exhibited products widely covered design concept, personal items, furniture, electronic products, etc.. Whole city of Milan is an exhibition ground – brands occupied corners, designers march into art sectors. The leading furniture fair, Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, is also held during Milan Design Week.
braIN Taiwan
This year, EYSAN is glad to be part of the Milan Design Week. The project “braIN TAIWAN” was generated by the city government of Tainan and Ministry of Culture and Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In this project, the representing textile companies, including Shing Kong, Everest, Tex-Ray, BenQ, Junmay Label, Minlin Lace, PG Mall, Sunmei Button and Eysan Fabrics, have collaborated with the top Taiwanese clothes designers and well-known Italian art designers.

Eysan is honored to be one of the companies that represent the Taiwanese textile industry joining this project. The exhibition, which is curated by Event Design, was located in the University of Milan, cooperating with the leading design magazine INTERNI.
Collaboration with Fashion Designer: Chen Chun-Liang
Chen Chun-Liang, one of the most famous crossover designers, also one of the most influential designers in Asia, has selected Eysan’s fabrics for the clothesline. Chen is not only the director of Freeimagine Design. He also has his own men’s wear clothing brand – Silzence. Chen used Eysan’s fabrics and created clothes that with Asian and Taiwanese fusion. Alongside with the clothes, Chen also insists to design the accessories to ensure all the pieces match together.

After the opening press conference of INTERNI, the models wore the clothes designed by the Taiwanese top designers to the Taiwan exhibition area. The clothes are all made from the fabrics provided by the textile companies. The supermodel, Patina Lin, was also on the runway and led the visitors to the exhibition of Taiwan.
The conceptual exhibition located in the University of Milan is a collaboration of Taiwanese textile companies and the Italian well-known art designers. The designers created art pieces from the fabrics of the 15 Taiwanese textiles companies. They intended to tell the stories of Taiwan and Taiwan textile industry and it’s strength through 25 art pieces, which was beyond the traditional textile trade exhibition and our imagination. Alone on the opening day, 5000 visitors have visited the exhibition. Totally 100 thousands visitors have visited the exhibition in 2 weeks.

Installation art : TOUCH, FEEL, DISCOVER ME

Inspiration: Touch, Feel, Discover Me by Andrea Bonessa wants to celebrate the smoothness and nice to touch the quality of the Eysan’s fabrics combined with the antibacterial feature.
Project descriptions:
On one side of the frame, there are two chairs that give the possibility to the people dived by the frame to touch each other but without any visual contact.
This performance generates a physical contact that brings two people closer independently from their exterior aspect overcoming barriers, judgments and stereotypes.

Installation art : YIN AND YANG
Author: Beatrice Arenella
Inspiration: Beatrice Arenella’s Yin and Yang is conceived to underline the different qualities and textures of Eysan fabrics. The Eysan fabrics will be the screen on which to project key symbols of the Taiwanese culture.
Project descriptions:
The work is composed of semi-circular suspended sheets. The fabrics of the sheets are white but have a very different texture, one is smooth, the other one is very worked. Video-mapping films are projected with videos that alternate contrasts that interpenetrate and complete themselves in the oriental culture.

Inspiration: Taiwanese culture is a multi-layers culture, so nothing is really the way it appears. To symbolize such a concept, we used the cones metaphor. To discover their real nature, you have to interact with them physically to discover their inner nature.
Project descriptions:
These are large suspended fabric cones that interact with the environment and the people in different ways. They are presences that punctuate and delimit a space, simply to look at, or to turn around or still enter to discover a completely different vision.
